Warning Description: Flood Warning
Warning Date: 11:14 am EDT on October 13, 2009
WarningSum:...The Flood Warning Continues For
The Ocmulgee River Near Macon...
Warning Message:* from tomorrow morning until Saturday afternoon.
* At 10 am Tuesday the stage was 15.1 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
to rise to near 20.7 feet by early Friday morning. The river will
fall below flood stage by Saturday morning.
* At 21 feet...minor flooding continues. Much of the Macon Greenway
Ocmulgee heritage trail will flood north of the fifth street
bridge. Agricultural flooding increase north and south of Macon.

WarningSum:...Flash Flood Watch Remains In Effect From Late Tonight Through
Wednesday Evening...
Warning Message:The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of north and central Georgia...
* from late tonight through Wednesday evening
* a broad area of heavy rain will move into the watch area after
midnight Wednesday morning...and spread eastward through
Wednesday night. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are likely
generally north of a line from La Grange...to Macon...to
Louisville.
* Several rivers and creeks remain in or near flood after the
widespread 2-3 inches of rain on Monday...and soils are
saturated over parts of north and central Georgia. Additional
heavy rainfall tonight into Wednesday will quickly run off into
creeks...rivers and streams resulting in rapid rises and
potentially more significant flooding. Localized areas...
especially across the mountains and parts of the Atlanta
metropolitan area may experience flash flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Do not drive across areas where water covers the Road...remember
to turn around don't drown!
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
